Découverte de l'Egypte et de ses trésors culturels
Séjour à l'hotel Casa del mar à Hurghada dans la partie réservée à Marmara du 08/06/24 au 22/06/24.Hotel agréable,propre,proche de l'aéroport(10 kms)très bien situé entre le Caire et Louxor,une avenue avec promenade piétonnière devant l'hotel avec de multiples magasins souvenirs dont un à 15 minutes à pieds en sortant coté plage "Cléopatra"sur 2 étages avec prix affichés et raisonnables,vous pouvez aussi prendre un taxi qui pour 5 euros maximun(250 livres Egyptcienne)négocié le prix avant de monter,vous conduira à la Marina ou se trouve un magasin avec prix raisonnables et la aussi affichés.Comme dans tous les pays chauds,privilégier le soir pour sortir(attention en traversant,les piétons ne sont pas prioritaires) en Egypte!Hotel avec 2 belles piscines,transats en nombre suffisants,accès à la plage en traversant l'avenue à 5 minutes avec petit coin équipé de transats réservé à Marmara mais attention pour les boissons,il faut courir après le serveur(pas top!).Buffet correct mais très peu de pastèques et melons(dommage pour la réhydratation),de plus pour ce qui concerne le tout-inclus boissons,rien à redire aux bars piscines et réception mais au buffet,il faut etre patient pour la bière ou le vin servis par le personnel mais de façon très aléatoire(à mon avis des consignes sont données pour limité et faire des économies sur les consomations).Par contre bon choix et bonne qualité des cocktails proposés.La wiffi ne fonctionne correctement qu'à la réception,chambre premium bien équipée et spacieuse,rien à redire,bonne climatisation,télévision qui fonctionne bien,coffre fort,deux bouteilles d'eau dans le frigo changées tous les jours,une terrasse,salle de bain avec douche italienne,bonne literie.Correspondante Marmara(Romi)parfaite,souriante,présente et éfficace.Equipe d'animation super!Présents,sympas et dynamiques.Une petite salle de sport,une petite salle billard et un restaurant à la carte que l'on peut réserver 1 fois x semaine de bonne qualité.Personnels souriant et au petit soin,une personne à la réception parle français,très gentille et éfficace.Prévoyer une enveloppe pour les pourboires,régulièrement attendu et réclamé(trop systématiquement)pénible au bout d'un moment...Nous avons fait 4 excursions en passant par l'hotel(assez chères mais vous n'avez pas de mauvaises surprises(en passant par les agences extérieures,vous pairez moins chère mais attention au comparatif des prestations et à la sécurité),sortie à l'ile de Mahmya avec plongée(sans bouteille)Magnifique!Le Caire et Louxor sont incontournables et inoubliables,meme sous une chaleur écrasante(si vous craignez les fortes températures n'allez pas en Egypte)en tout cas pas en Juin.Seule la journée safari avec quad et buggy au programme est décevante(si vous ne maitrisez pas complètement ces engins et si vous etes une femme,vous serez priée de vous contenter de regarder les autres),vu le peu de danger dans le désert ou il n'y a ni obstacles ni piétons et à vitesse limitée,c'est inadmissible et discriminatoire.C'est ce qui est arrivé à mon épouse et à plusieurs autres personnes participantes à cette journée safari,et d'autres durant notre séjour se sont plains des memes disriminations.D'autant plus inadmissible que l'on ne vous informe pas sur cette éventualité au moment de la réservation sinon il y aurait beaucoup moins de candidats.Sinon ambiance générale du club super convivial,nous n'oublierons jamais ce superbe voyage en Egypte!

A vacation to remember
I have been many times in Hurgada, but this time it was (different) , what a wonderful staff ,they were so professional, trying to help as much as they can , trying to give you a time to remember
Thanks a lot to Mr.Joseph William who made our stay so special , and the amazing talented chef Mr. Tobba for the wonderful tasty food that he prepared in every single meal & Mr Abdalrahman who didn't let us need anything in dinning time.

Let’s start with check in very quick after 3 hour delay
Shown to room with massive comfy bed ( hubby found it bit hard)
Slept well A/C worked very well room and bathroom were pleasant and spotless.
Grounds are kept immaculate big Thankyou to the gardeners who work tirelessly in the heat.
Buffet restaurant was also spotless plenty of choice always found something nice to eat.
Every member of staff seemed to be happy in there job.
Al a carte restaurant has fantastic staff with great food.
Mohammed who works there has the biggest smile and always gave a wave and a smile he is an asset to your hotel, such a beautiful person.
We have never been treated so well in any hotel we have been to from chefs bringing fruit drinks canapés around the pool,
The management evening dinner with the flautist playing was an absolute delight what a beautiful night we all had.
The beach parties were fab too.
Entertainment staff where also very happy in there work.
Mohammad the manager was like an old friend he was very engaging and more importantly he was always present and available to speak too.
I would like to make 1 suggestion maybe on nights by reception when there is no entertainment on there could be some background music on or maybe bit of dance music for us oldies who like a bit of a dance.

Average stay
We stayed at the Iberotel Casa del mar for 1 week and have mixed opinions on the stay.
The hotel overall is modern with 2 big pools with swim up bars either side, and a small area for water slides and a kids pool. We stayed in a deluxe room which had a seated terrace, a big bed, a sitting area and plenty of wardrobe and storage space. The bathroom was okay however could do with deep cleaning the mould in the shower or renovating slightly. Almost all of the staff could not do enough for you and was really friendly, however the same friendliness was not given in the restaurant by some of the chefs and older waiters that did not crack a smile or clear plates/ offer drinks at the table. The entertainment was little to none and when shows were put on they lasted 30 mins and then relied heavily on 2 young girls and a lad to mess about and dance (unprofessionally) The entertainment was focussed heavily on French guests during the day and night and they did not get involved with the English or other nationalities that did not speak French. During the day we never got asked to join in on darts/ water polo/ table tennis/ aqua aerobics etc and this was the same for other English guests that we met during our stay. We also went to watch the England Euro’s game on the TV in the games room area and was told that they did not show football games there, however Germany was playing on the TV the night before? So somebody complained to reception who came over and turned the game on eventually..
The drinks at the hotel were okay with a good selection of cocktails on the menu, the pop was all out of a Coca Cola machine which was an added bonus as most all inclusive are cheap brands of soft drinks.
We didn’t think much of the food at the main restaurant as we wouldn’t eat 3/4 of the options, however the snack bar was definitely the better option for lunch and you can order off a menu which makes a change to the usual buffet styles. We both caught gastroenteritis on the 3rd day which lasted 8 days, and as we had not eaten or drank outside of the hotel, I would say that this was definitely contracted by the food or the bottled water in our room. We went to the pharmacy across the road from the hotel and paid extortionate amounts for anti sickness/ anti diarreal/ buscopan and the pharmacist would also try and sell you additional products that you do not need. We paid nearly £35 for 3 products which we could have gotten from home for about £15, however we paid as we desperately needed them. Overpricing tourists was definitely a common theme in Egypt, we nearly got ripped off at the airport by the ‘EasyJet’ visa desk who wanted $35 each even when we pointed out that the signs say $25 each around the airport but he would not back down on price. We then went to the desk to the right side which we thought was a currency exchange to get more dollars, and the guy said he can do our visa for us for $25 and we had no issue getting through security.

We went to the pharmacy across the road from the hotel and paid extortionate amounts for anti sickness/ anti diarreal/ buscopan and the pharmacist would also try and sell you additional products that you do not need. We paid nearly £35 for 3 products which we could have gotten from home for about £15, however we paid as we desperately needed them. Overpricing tourists was definitely a common theme in Egypt, we nearly got ripped off at the airport by the ‘EasyJet’ visa desk who wanted $35 each even when we pointed out that the signs say $25 each around the airport but he would not back down on price. We then went to the desk to the right side which we thought was a currency exchange to get more dollars, and the guy said he can do our visa for us for $25 and we had no issue getting through security.
